    1930年代後半、第二次大戦開戦前夜のヨーロッパではナチス・ドイツの台頭により迫害を受けたユダヤ人難民が各地に大量に発生するなか、ユダヤ人の子どもたちを安全な国に疎開させる＜キンダートランスポート＞と呼ばれる活動が活発化していました。

    ニコラス・ウィントン（1909-2015）は、公的支援を受けずにチェコスロヴァキアでその活動を行い、669人の子どもたちを救いました。しかし、彼はそのことを家族にさえ話していませんでした。

    それから50年、奇跡の再会がさらなる奇跡を生んでいきます。この映画は“英国のシンドラー”と呼ばれ、ノーベル平和賞候補にもたびたび名を挙げられた愛と勇気の人ニコラス・ウィントンの知られざる活動の足跡と、彼に救われた人々の人生をたどり、子どもたちを救うことの大切さを世界に伝える感動のドキュメンタリー映画です。

    96年の初夏、製作費わずか45ポンド（6,000円弱）ながら、その完成度で話題となリ、数々のファンタスティック映画祭で受賞を果たしたゾンビ映画の傑作。ゾンビとなった青年がかつて恋人と暮らしたアパートを目指して世紀末のロンドンを彷徨する姿が涙を誘う。
    大盛況のうちに終了した＜東京国際ゾンビ映画祭2011＞で上映後、レイトショーでロングランの予定だったが、公開6日目に東日本大震災が発生して夜の上映が不可能となり、日本全土が昼間からゾンビ映画を見る気分ではなかった。ちょっと不運な1本。全世界注目の新鋭だった監督マーク･プライスはまだ伸び悩み中。
